【摘要】:Thethermalresistanceandevaporativeresistanceprovidedbyfabrics,films,coatings,foams,andleathers,includingmulti-layerassemblies,isofconsiderableimportanceindeterminingtheirsuitabilityforuseinfabricatingprotectiveclothingsystems.Thethermalinterchangebetweenpeopleandtheirenvironmentis,however,anextremelycomplicatedsubjectthatinvolvesmanyfactorsinadditiontothesteady-stateresistancevaluesoffabrics,films,coatings,foams,andleathers,includingmulti-layerassemblies.Therefore,thermalresistancevaluesandevaporativeresistancevaluesmeasuredonahotplatemayormaynotindicaterelativemeritofaparticularmaterialorsystemforagivenclothingapplication.Whileapossibleindicatorofclothingperformance,measurementsproducedbythetestingoffabricshavenoprovencorrelationtotheperformanceofclothingsystemswornbypeople.Clothingweight,drape,tightnessoffit,andsoforth,canminimizeorevenneutralizetheapparentdifferencesbetweenfabricsorfabricassembliesmeasuredbythistestmethod.ThethermalresistanceandevaporativeresistanceofclothingsystemscanbemeasuredwithaheatedmanikininanenvironmentalchamberinaccordancewithTestMethodsF1291andF2370.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthethermalresistanceandtheevaporativeresistance,understeady-stateconditions,offabrics,films,coatings,foams,andleathers,includingmulti-layerassemblies,foruseinclothingsystems.1.2Therangeofthismeasurementtechniqueforintrinsicthermalresistanceisfrom0.002to0.5Kx00B7;m2/Wandforintrinsicevaporativeresistanceisfrom0.0to1.0kPax00B7;m2/W.1.3ThevaluesinSIunitsshallberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
